QCHP Licence for Radiographers
A QCHP registration is what permits a radiographer to practise in Qatar. Verification is the one stage with a published cost. Whether a QCHP imaging registration is modality-restricted is not on file, so the useful preparation is evidence of every modality you actually practise in.
Which modalities can you evidence right now?
Imaging careers accumulate training that is never held in one place, and retrieving it is the same job regardless of which Gulf authority you apply to.
A radiographer with years of practice typically holds a primary qualification from a university plus CT, MRI, interventional or ultrasound training delivered by hospitals, equipment vendors and short-course providers. The university certificate is easy to replace. The others are held by organisations that may have restructured or stopped issuing records.
Whether QCHP restricts a licence by modality is not something we can tell you. What is certain is that a file establishing only general radiography is a weaker basis for a role that assumes CT or MRI competence, and that the certificates evidencing those modalities do not get easier to find with time.
Do the inventory now. List the modalities you would want a Qatari employer to consider you competent in, and check what you can actually produce for each.
What does QCHP require of radiographers?
QCHP assesses imaging applications against its own requirements, and we hold no sourced statement of them.
Your qualification, any registration and your employment history will be verified at source, as they are everywhere in the Gulf.
- A recognised radiography or medical imaging qualification
- Evidence of the modalities you practise in
- Current registration or licence, where your country issues one
- Post-qualification experience evidenced by certificates that name modalities
- Radiation protection training records, where held
- [VERIFY: whether a QCHP imaging registration is modality-restricted, and which qualification levels map to which imaging titles.]
What exam do radiographers take?
Whether an examination applies to radiography in Qatar, and whether it is set by modality, is not on file for QCHP.
Ask the council directly before paying for preparation or booking a sitting.
[VERIFY: QCHP examination requirement, provider, blueprint and fees for this profession. Obtain from QCHP before publishing any detail.]
Why no single question count applies across professions, and what to ask your authority instead, is covered on our Prometric explainer.
What documents do radiographers need?
What to assemble, with the items specific to radiographers marked by what they have to establish.
- Passport and photograph to the authority specification
- Radiography or medical imaging qualification, attested
- Academic transcriptsThese evidence which modalities your programme covered.
- Modality-specific training certificatesCT, MRI, interventional and ultrasound. Retrieve these first: they are the hardest to replace.
- Current registration or licence, where your country issues one
- Experience certificates naming modalities, not only the roleSenior radiographer tells an assessor nothing about scope.
- Good standing certificate or an agreed alternative
- [VERIFY: the QCHP document checklist for radiographers, including any radiation protection requirements.]The list above is the GCC pattern rather than a QCHP specification.
Good standing must come from the body that registers radiographers in your country, where one exists, and GCC authorities generally accept one only while it is under six months old. The sequencing trap is explained on our good standing guide.
How much does it cost for radiographers?
Regulator and third-party fees only, paid by you directly to the authority or provider. Where a row reads Not published we hold no sourced figure and will not estimate one.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Primary source verification | QAR 1,100-1,500 | Approximately 300-410 USD |
| Fixed verification package | Not published | [VERIFY: whether QCHP quotes a fixed verification package for radiographers, and at what figure.] |
| Examination | Not published | [VERIFY: QCHP examination for radiographers. Obtain from the authority before publishing any figure.] |
| Application | Not published | [VERIFY: QCHP application for radiographers. Obtain from the authority before publishing any figure.] |
| Total government fees | Not published | [VERIFY: QCHP total government fees for radiographers. Obtain from the authority before publishing any figure.] |
QCHP publishes no allied health band on file. The single verification range applies and no examination or registration figure is held.
Our advisory fee is not published. It is quoted per case, in writing, after a free eligibility consultation, because it depends on your title, how many credentials need verifying and whether attestation applies. The costs page explains what moves that number.
How long does it take?
[VERIFY: QCHP end-to-end licensing timeline for this profession. No range is held on file and none will be borrowed from another authority.]
Verification itself runs 15-25 working days from the date of payment and submission of a complete set of documents, and a resubmission costs 50 to 100 percent of the original fee. See DataFlow verification.
Where does this sit in the wider process?
This page covers radiographers under QCHP specifically. The authority, the sibling professions and the same profession elsewhere in the Gulf are covered separately.
- QCHP licensing in Qatar, the authority page for every profession
- QCHP licence for laboratory technicians, a comparable clinical or allied route
- QCHP licence for physiotherapists, a comparable clinical or allied route
- Healthcare licensing across the GCC, if the country is not settled yet
What else do radiographers ask?
Is a QCHP imaging registration restricted by modality?
We hold no sourced answer and will not invent one. What is worth acting on regardless is that a file establishing only general radiography is a weaker basis for a role that assumes CT or MRI competence.
Which certificates should I retrieve first?
The modality training ones. They are issued by hospitals, vendors and short-course providers rather than a university, and they are the documents most likely to have become difficult to obtain. The primary qualification is the easy one.
My experience certificate just says senior radiographer. Is that a problem?
It tells an assessor your seniority but not your scope. Have it reissued to name the modalities you worked in, while your former employer can still do it.
Do I need radiation protection records?
We cannot tell you whether QCHP requires them. Include them if you hold them: an extra relevant document costs nothing, and a missing required one costs weeks.
What does verification cost?
The published QCHP range is in the cost table on this page, in Qatari riyals with a US dollar approximation. Paid by you directly, in your own name.
Why is there less detail here than on your Dubai pages?
Because our figures file holds more for DHA than for QCHP. We publish what we can source and mark what we cannot, rather than describing Dubai and relabelling it Qatar. The gaps are listed as [VERIFY] items and will be filled with citations.
