Doctors
QCHP requirements, documents and costs for this profession.
A QCHP registration is what permits a healthcare professional to practise in Qatar. It is issued by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners, a single national authority covering the whole country. Primary source verification is required, and it is the one stage of the process we can price from a published source.
Verification is the figure we can cite. The authority's own examination and registration fees are not on file.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Primary source verification | QAR 1,100-1,500 | 300-410 |
| Examination | Not published | [VERIFY: QCHP examination. Obtain from the authority before publishing any figure.] |
| Application | Not published | [VERIFY: QCHP application. Obtain from the authority before publishing any figure.] |
| Total | Not published | [VERIFY: QCHP total. Obtain from the authority before publishing any figure.] |

Every healthcare professional practising in Qatar. QCHP is a single national authority, so unlike the UAE there is no emirate-level regulator to identify first and no free zone equivalent of Dubai Healthcare City to check for.
Put the questions to QCHP in writing before you commit to a start date: classification levels, whether an examination applies, and the expected timeline. We hold no sourced answers for any of the three.
The stage we can price. Your qualifications, registration and employers are confirmed at source, and standard verification takes 15-25 working days from the date of payment and submission of a complete set of documents.
[VERIFY: whether QCHP requires an examination, for which professions, and who delivers it. Obtain from QCHP before publishing any detail.]
Registration with the council, then the renewal cycle that follows it. A Qatar licence is valid in Qatar and does not transfer to another GCC state.
The general four-stage shape every GCC regulator runs is on how it works. How closely QCHP follows it in detail is among the things we have marked for verification.
[VERIFY: QCHP end-to-end licensing timeline. Obtain from QCHP before publishing a range.]
We are not going to borrow a figure from Dubai or Riyadh and present it as Qatar's. For scale, DHA typically runs 4-12 weeks and SCFHS 6-10 months. That spread is wide enough that placing Qatar anywhere within it without a source would be a guess with real consequences for someone planning around a start date.
What is knowable is the stage that dominates every GCC application. Verification runs 15-25 working days from the date of payment and submission of a complete set of documents, and it is required here as it is everywhere.
QCHP does not publish a checklist we have been able to source. The set below is what every GCC health authority asks for, and is what to start assembling.
[VERIFY: QCHP published rejection reasons. No authority-specific list has been sourced.]
The documentary failures that return applications are consistent across GCC health authorities, and the set documented for DHA is representative. It is presented there as DHA's own published list, and we are not going to relabel it as Qatar's.
Requirements differ by profession even where the authority-level detail is thin. These pages set out what to assemble and what to establish with QCHP directly.

Every healthcare professional practising in Qatar. QCHP registers the seven professions listed on this page: doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, physiotherapists, lab technicians, radiographers. Unlike the UAE there is no second emirate-level regulator to check for.
Primary source verification runs QAR 1,100-1,500, approximately 300-410 US dollars. That is the one QCHP figure we hold from a published source. Examination and registration fees are not on file and we will not estimate them.
We hold no timeline for QCHP and will not borrow one. For scale, DHA licensing typically runs 4-12 weeks and SCFHS registration 6-10 months. There is no basis in our sources for placing Qatar relative to either, so ask the council directly.
Because our figures file holds less for QCHP: a verification fee and a profession list, and nothing else. We publish what we can source and mark what we cannot. Describing how Dubai works and relabelling it Qatar would read as authoritative and mislead you exactly where it matters.
No. Each GCC state registers separately and none recognises another in place of its own assessment. What often transfers is the verification report underneath, which can remove the largest single fee and the longest wait from a second application.
Yes, and honestly the help is narrower than for Dubai. We can manage verification, assemble and attest the document set, and establish the current requirements with QCHP on your behalf before you commit. We will not charge you for certainty we do not have.
