QCHP Licence for Pharmacists

A QCHP registration is what permits a pharmacist to practise in Qatar. Verification is the one stage we can price. Whether Qatar operates separate pharmacist and pharmacy technician titles, and what each requires, is not on file, so this page sets out what to establish and what to gather meanwhile.

Can you evidence your pre-registration period?

This is the pharmacy question that holds whatever the authority turns out to require, and it is worth resolving before you know anything else about Qatar.

In most systems the pharmacist title rests on a supervised pre-registration or internship period completed after the degree. It is documented separately from the qualification, by a training site or council rather than the university, and a large share of applicants discover they never held the certificate themselves.

Every Gulf authority that distinguishes pharmacist from pharmacy technician will want that evidence in some form. Finding it takes weeks when the training site still exists and longer when it does not, so starting now costs you nothing even if QCHP's specific requirements turn out to be different from your expectation.

What you should ask QCHP in parallel: whether separate pharmacist and technician registrations exist, what evidence establishes each, and whether an examination applies.

What does QCHP require of pharmacists?

QCHP assesses pharmacy applications against its own requirements, and we hold no sourced statement of what those are.

The preparation that holds regardless is documentary: qualification, registration, internship evidence and experience, all verified at source.

  • A recognised pharmacy qualification
  • Current registration with the pharmacy council or authority you practise under
  • Evidence of supervised pre-registration or internship, where your system required it
  • Post-qualification experience evidenced by signed certificates
  • [VERIFY: whether QCHP operates separate pharmacist and pharmacy technician registrations, and the qualifications and experience required for each.]

What exam do pharmacists take?

Whether an examination applies to pharmacy in Qatar, and whether it is set differently by title, is not on file for QCHP.

Confirm with QCHP before booking anything. Sitting an assessment for the wrong title is an expensive and entirely avoidable error.

Why no single question count applies across professions, and what to ask your authority instead, is covered on our Prometric explainer.

What documents do pharmacists need?

What to assemble, with the items specific to pharmacists marked by what they have to establish.

  • Passport and photograph to the authority specification
  • Pharmacy degree or diploma, attested
  • Academic transcripts
  • Current pharmacy council registrationFrom the pharmacy regulator, not from an employer or a pharmacy chain.
  • Pre-registration or internship completion evidenceStart looking for this now. It is the slowest pharmacy document to obtain retrospectively.
  • Good standing certificate from your pharmacy council
  • Experience certificates signed at director level
  • [VERIFY: the QCHP document checklist for pharmacists, including any items specific to Qatar.]The list above is the GCC pattern rather than a QCHP specification.

Good standing must come from the pharmacy council or authority holding your registration, and GCC authorities generally accept one only while it is under six months old. The sequencing trap is explained on our good standing guide.

How much does it cost for pharmacists?

Regulator and third-party fees only, paid by you directly to the authority or provider. Where a row reads Not published we hold no sourced figure and will not estimate one.

QCHP verification is the only figure we hold. No examination or registration fee is on file and none will be estimated.

Our advisory fee is not published. It is quoted per case, in writing, after a free eligibility consultation, because it depends on your title, how many credentials need verifying and whether attestation applies. The costs page explains what moves that number.

How long does it take?

[VERIFY: QCHP end-to-end licensing timeline for this profession. No range is held on file and none will be borrowed from another authority.]

Verification itself runs 15-25 working days from the date of payment and submission of a complete set of documents, and a resubmission costs 50 to 100 percent of the original fee. See DataFlow verification.

This page covers pharmacists under QCHP specifically. The authority, the sibling professions and the same profession elsewhere in the Gulf are covered separately.

What else do pharmacists ask?

Does Qatar separate pharmacist and pharmacy technician registration?

We hold no sourced answer for QCHP and will not assume one from how other Gulf authorities operate. It is a direct question to put to QCHP, and the answer changes what evidence you need to assemble, so ask it early.

Should I chase my internship certificate before I know the requirements?

Yes. Every Gulf authority that distinguishes the two pharmacy titles wants that evidence in some form, and it is the slowest pharmacy document to obtain retrospectively. Starting now costs nothing if the requirement turns out to be different.

What does QCHP verification cost?

The published range is in the cost table on this page, in Qatari riyals with a US dollar approximation. Paid by you directly to the verification provider, in your own name.

Is there an examination?

Not something we hold for QCHP. Ask the council directly rather than assuming the Dubai or Riyadh position, because exemption rules differ by authority and a non-refundable fee is a poor way to find out.

How does Qatar compare to the UAE and Saudi Arabia?

On documentation available to us, Qatar publishes least. DHA and SCFHS both have fuller records on this site, including timelines and, for DHA, an itemised fee set. That is a statement about our sources rather than about the regulators themselves.

Can you help with a Qatar pharmacy application?

Yes, and honestly the help is narrower than for Dubai. We can manage verification, assemble and attest the documents, and establish the current requirements with QCHP before you commit to anything. We will not charge you for certainty we do not have.
